Let’s get this party (or tailgate) started!
This week, we’re going to start with SIMPLE SIMPLICITY!
Tailgating is all about enjoying a sporting event outdoors with family and friends. Steeplechase tailgating takes it to the next level with creating lavish displays of food and drinks, as well as possibly incorporating a theme. Tailgates don’t have to take a long time to prepare or cost a fortune if you keep it SIMPLE.
Charcuterie Boards are SIMPLE for many reasons!
You can make board displays as simple or elaborate and healthy or decadent as you want. Here’s an example of a tailgate that brought in wooden crates to create height and more areas to display food.
You have your SIMPLE food plan….now what about the DRINKS?
Bring a couple containers of pre-made cocktails, cooler of ice, and mason jars (if you want to keep with a simple, country theme) or good ‘ole Solo Cups.
2 Gallon container can be found on Amazon.com. Mason jars are easily found at any grocery or big box store.
SIMPLE AND SIMPLICITY! Oh yeah…don’t forget cooler of water. Make sure you stay hydrated! It’s a long day and want everyone to have fun and stay safe!
When you reserve a tailgate spot you are eligible to enter the tailgate competition – and it is free! Tailgates are judged by a panel of local food and TV personalities.
If you have reserved a tailgate spot and would like to enter the competition, send your name, contact information, and tailgate spot number to email@example.com by 5pm on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Past prizes have included dinners and hotel stays, airline tickets and gift baskets.
Want a delicious warm day beverage that can be SUPER SIMPLE to make, plus, it looks pretty!
Strawberry Basil Lemonade
Strawberry Basil Lemonade makes for a great party drink. If you have a bunch of lemons and want to make home lemonade, go right ahead. For a larger crowd, keep it simple by using a can of store-bought lemonade out of the freezer.
INGREDIENTS – Multiply this recipe as many times as you need.
1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate is mixed with 4 1/3 cans of water.
Large Handful of Basil. Save some for garnish
2 containers of Strawberries, washed, hulled and halved. Buy extra or save a few for garnish
2 lemons – To make it look like you made fresh lemonade – slice lemons for garnish
Lemon Vodka – ½ cup to Cup or Omit for non-alcoholic lemonade.
